The research

Because My Dog is My Home believes that solutions for providing shelter and housing for people experiencing homelessness with their companion animals should be informed by the local context, we took the November 20th service fair as an opportunity to better understand the experience of human-animal homelessness in Bloomington. In addition to directly meeting the basic needs of the companion animals, we also engaged attendees through a brief intake interview and survey that helped us assess existing and needed local resources.
