Join us for an extraordinary evening in NYC to support My Dog Is My Home’s work keeping human-animal families together. On September 9, 2025 we’ll gather in downtown Manhattan for a night of storytelling, special guests, delicious dinner, a silent auction, and more, emceed by comedian Lucie Pohl.
Imagine having to choose between a home and your beloved pet–a member of your family.
Every day, people facing homelessness are forced to choose between a safe place to sleep and their pets. At My Dog Is My Home, we’re working to create a world where nobody must make this impossible choice–by helping emergency and long-term affordable housing across the United States become pet-inclusive.
On September 9, The Next Chapter | A Celebration of Stories for Systems Change will raise critical funds for My Dog Is My Home’s work and honor changemakers who are helping human-animal families stay together
This very special event marks the relaunch of My Dog Is My Home’s storytelling program and will feature powerful, personal stories from people who have experienced homelessness with their pets. These narratives not only move hearts–they shift systems.
Our Honorees:
Senator Monica Martinez
Assemblymember Linda B. Rosenthal
Senator Martinez and Assemblymember Rosenthal have recently introduced legislation in New York that would transform pet-inclusive emergency housing throughout the state–so that people experiencing homelessness and survivors of domestic abuse don’t have to make the heartbreaking choice between the pets they love and access to safe housing.
A limited number of VIP tickets are available for the event.
The VIP Experience includes a private reception hosted by My Dog Is My Home founder Christine Kim, and features a meet-and-greet with our honorees, New York State Senator Monica Martinez and Assemblymember Linda Rosenthal, as well as some of the event’s spotlighted storytellers.
The VIP Experience begins at 5:15 pm–prior to the main event–at the same venue.
Thank you to our VIP Experience sponsor, The Roots Fund.
