We invite representatives from human and animal service organizations to join us in person for the My Dog Is My Home & Urban Resource Institute Open House New York City on October 23rd, 2026.

Our open house event provides the opportunity to:

• Learn more about existing pet-inclusive emergency housing

• Find out practical steps your organization can take to increase access to pet-inclusive housing

• Hear about the importance of pet-inclusive housing from people with lived expertise of housing insecurity

URI creates pathways to safety, stability, and healing for survivors of domestic violence and individuals experiencing homelessness.

As our guest, you’ll:

➡ Tour a pet-inclusive domestic violence shelter
➡ Learn about Urban Resource Institute’s co-sheltering policies and procedures
➡ Build connections with a network of providers dedicated to pet-inclusive initiatives

Implementation award available: One open house attendee will be awarded a $2,500 implementation award, plus complimentary technical assistance to apply what they learn. To be eligible, simply attend the open house and complete a short post-event assessment.
